Global Logistics Mastery:
Scarbrough's Special Projects Division executes flawless repacking, inland freight, and overseas shipping operation
Scarbrough’s Special Projects Division was hired to handle a complex operation involving repacking, rigging, inland freight to an east coast port, and freight to Nhava Sheva. OVERVIEW
The cargo had been sitting at the shipper's facility for many years, resulting in deteriorated crates. To ensure their acceptance for shipping, we brought the crates to a nearby packing facility for repacking. In total, there were 39 cases to be moved, with one of them considered a super load. This particular crate was transported separately, while the remaining cases were loaded onto flat racks.
CHALLENGES
Additionally, we had to transport 48 SOC's (Shipper's Own Containers). The challenge here was that the CSC plating was outdated and the tarps on the open tops needed to be replaced. To address this, Scarbrough procured new tarps and hired a surveyor to re-certify the CSC plating. Once all the boxes were re-certified and the tarps were fitted, SPD successfully moved all 48 boxes on a single ship to India. To ensure smooth execution, SPD employees conducted multiple site visits with our vendors to ensure that rigging and loading plans were well-coordinated.
CONCLUSION With Scarbrough's expertise and attention to detail, we delivered a seamless and successful project, ensuring the safe transportation of the cargo to its destination.
