The Scarbrough Journal: E-Commerce Edition

In this Issue:

Rise of E-Commerce
Last-Mile Delivery
Shifting the Delivery Landscape
Cross-Border Fulfillment
Reverse Logistics

Welcome to the third edition of the Scarbrough Journal for 2025. I’ve often said that the logistics industry is a centuries-old giant – one that must move far more nimbly than its age and size suggest. The rise of e-commerce is a prime example of how this industry has flexed and evolved to meet new demands.

This quarter’s Journal will focus on how e-commerce is reshaping different sectors of the market, and how companies are adapting to stay ahead. We’ll look at last-mile delivery innovations and how they are impacting the domestic trucking market. You’ll also find insights into cross-border logistics – including how companies handle changing regulations and low-value “De Minimis” shipments. Finally, we explore the rise in reverse logistics and sustainable packaging, and how both are challenging warehouses to become agile while maintaining efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Thank you for reading. We hope you enjoy the issue!
